Peer Mentor Program

The Peer Mentor Program is one of the backbones of MHDS and strongly supports the tenet of peers helping peers. MHDS Peer Mentors are upper-year students registered with the service who are familiar with the accommodation process and with York campus resources. In their role as service ambassadors, peer mentors help other students find the supports and services they are looking for on campus and are available as a source of support and guidance.

You can connect with a peer mentor in a few different ways:

  • email:
  • ask your MHDS counsellor to connect you to a peer mentor directly
  • drop-in during posted office hours
  • Attend a workshop. See the calendar

Peer Mentor Office Hours

Meet Our Peer Mentor:

Katalin - Office Hours are Tuesdays 11:00am-12:00pm

Hi there! My name is Katalin. I am a mature student studying Psychology with the goal to become a relationship counselor, and I am thrilled to be a member of your Peer Mentor group. Do you feel that student life is not only exciting but it can also be challenging at times? As a working mother of two, who had to start with ESL classes at York, I also have experienced some of my own life challenges. I have personally used a variety of services offered at MHDS and hope that my knowledge and experience can help you as well. Please don’t hesitate to drop in or book an appointment with me. I am very much looking forward to working with you this school year.
